Recovery

After you’ve had your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment, you’ll most likely feel a little discomfort (once the topical anesthesia wears off, if any was applied). You may experience some bruising and swelling as well, but these side effects will go away.

You can expect to return to work immediately despite these side effects.

Things that will be listed in your post-treatment care sheet from your doctor include the following things that you should do:

  • Avoid strenuous physical activity at least 24 hours after.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area to prevent infection and the migration of BOTOX® to other parts of your body.
  • Do not lie down for a few hours after injection.
  • Do not take any medications or supplements that are listed by your doctor. They may be incompatible with your treatment.
  • Be patient with seeing your results – BOTOX® can take a few days and up to a week to reveal the best results. This is because your body needs to react to the product through natural physiological processes.

After you see your results, you can now enjoy them! Feel free to smile more, because you’ll feel fantastic with how you’ll look.

Results last, on average, 4 months. The more treatments you get (with the minimum 4 month waiting time between each) typically make results last longer. However, always speak to your doctor about the best treatment schedule for you.
